Warranty

Aircons Cape Town stands behind the work we do. This page explains what is covered by our workmanship warranty and the manufacturer warranties that apply to the units we install. We are based in Montague Gardens, Cape Town, and service the entire Western Cape.

1. Our Workmanship Warranty

All installation, repair, and servicing work carried out by Aircons Cape Town is guaranteed for 12 months from the date of completion.

What this covers:

• Labour faults — if a problem develops due to our workmanship within 12 months, we will return and fix it at no charge
• Installation issues — including pipework, drainage, mounting, and electrical connections done by our team
• Repair work — if the same fault recurs within 12 months of our repair, we will return at no charge

What this does not cover:

• Manufacturer defects — these are covered by the manufacturer's warranty (see below)
• Damage caused by power surges, lightning, or electrical faults not related to our work
• Damage caused by misuse, neglect, or unauthorised third-party repairs
• Lack of maintenance — e.g. blocked filters, dirty coils, or debris in the outdoor unit
• Normal wear and tear of consumable parts (filters, batteries in remotes, etc.)
• Refrigerant top-ups required due to natural leakage over time
• Damage from severe weather, flooding, or acts of God

2. Manufacturer Warranties

The aircon units we supply come with the manufacturer's own warranty. These vary by brand and typically cover the compressor and parts separately. The table below shows the standard warranty periods for the brands we carry:

Manufacturer warranties are handled through the brand's authorised service network. We will assist you in registering a warranty claim and liaising with the manufacturer, but the final decision on the claim rests with the manufacturer.

3. How to Make a Warranty Claim

• Contact us on 021 388 0026 or WhatsApp with your job reference or invoice number
• Describe the fault — we will assess whether it falls under our workmanship warranty or the manufacturer's warranty
• For workmanship warranty claims, we will schedule a return visit at no charge within the 12-month period
• For manufacturer warranty claims, we will submit the claim on your behalf and coordinate the manufacturer's service agent
• Keep your invoice — it is your proof of purchase and warranty start date

4. Warranty Exclusions

The following will void both our workmanship warranty and the manufacturer's warranty:

• Any repair, modification, or servicing carried out by an unauthorised party
• Use of non-approved refrigerants or parts
• Installation in a location not compliant with manufacturer specifications (e.g. corrosive environments without anti-corrosion protection)
• Failure to carry out basic maintenance (cleaning filters, clearing drainage)
• Physical damage to the unit caused by impact, vibration, or relocation

5. Regas and Refrigerant

Regas work is guaranteed for 6 months from the date of service. If the system loses gas within this period due to a fault in our regas work, we will return and re-gas at no charge. If the loss is due to an underlying leak that was not visible at the time of regas, we will identify the leak and provide a quote for the repair before re-gassing.

6. Commercial Installations

Commercial installations carry the same 12-month workmanship warranty, subject to the unit being used within its rated duty cycle. Units used beyond their design capacity (e.g. a 12 000 BTU unit in a 70 m² restaurant) are not covered.
